Marshals News

Marshalling is open to everyone and is a good point to start getting involved in Motorsport. For new members it is a good way of getting to know other club members and enthusiasts. Although it is not necessary for people to be registered as a marshal with the MSA to help on events there is a registered marshals scheme administered by them. Full details can be found in these documents.

Marshals are required for the following events. Please contact Chief Marshal, John Newlove, if you can help.

21st November - Premier Stages Rally

5th - 6th December - Rockingham Stages
Rob Brook is Clerk of the Course this year so would appreciate any help we can give him, especially setting up and taking down people. See info below

A popular event with competitors (normally fills up within weeks of regulations being available), This years Rockingham Stages will take place on the first weekend of December. Following it's usual format, there'll be a lunchtime start on the Saturday with 4 stages running into the dark. (This is what makes the event unique, with most of the stage visible from the grandstands, spotlights going in every direction!) Sunday features a further 6 stages, normally finishing in good time for those with journeys home.

Marshals receive a real focus on this event with goody bags and marshals raffle the norm. Also, free accommodation and breakfast is available for those marshalling both days, and a hot water boiler provided for those in the inner pit area. We do get a lot of marshals returning year after year, but new volunteers always welcome.

13th December - Neil Howard Memorial Stages Rally
To be held on Melbourne Airfield - More details later.
